"Who Else Wants to Lower 'Bad' Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure--Without A Prescription?"

Here's Mother Nature's special ingredient to lower bad (LDL) cholesterol and high blood pressure... and... it's a potent antioxidant, as well.

Dear Friend,

What if I told you that a simple, well-known spice was packed chock full of at least 25 antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-protozoal compounds? And what if I told you that it may also help to lower elevated blood pressure, all on its own? And what would you say if that same spice was a terrific way to enhance the triglyceride-lowering effects of omega-3 fatty acids and turn fish oil into a net cholesterol lowering agent?

Pretty amazing, right?

Well, as it happens, there IS such a spice, with all these amazing health benefits.

It's called... GARLIC.

Yes, the humble spice, garlic, has all these health-enhancing properties and more.

Available in fresh, segmented bulbs, composed of individual cloves, garlic is available in any grocery store produce department, or vegetable stand. It is a member of the Lilly family, genus allium, which also includes onions.

But here's why it's a health promoting powerhouse.

Garlic contains the substance alliin, an odorless, colorless, sulfur-containing compound, derived from the amino acid cysteine. Through the chemical action of the enzyme allinase, alliin is converted to the active compound, allicin, when the garlic bulbs are crushed, or cut.

Allicin is responsible for garlic's most potent health and healing properties, as well as its very distinctive pungent odor, but it is poorly absorbed by the body. Its potency is also decreased by heating (i.e., cooking) and it is actually destroyed by microwaving. Since this active compound is so easily degraded, the more you have on board, the better.

Diallyl sulfides are less powerful sulfur compounds in garlic that can survive the heat of cooking, do not degrade as easily, but lack the antibacterial and antifungal properties of allicin. However, they DO retain the ability to lower total and bad (LDL) cholesterol levels.

Healing properties of garlic

Garlic has a number of cardiovascular protective properties:
• It can lower total cholesterol levels, as noted above;

• It may reduce high blood pressure, to some degree;

• It stimulates nitric oxide production (which promotes vascular health and function and enhances circulation);

• It displays antithrombotic, anti-platelet aggregation, anticoagulant, and increased fibrinolytic activity effects. In other words, garlic "thins" the blood and diminishes the risk of abnormal blood clotting.

• Garlic contains Vitamins A and C, as well as the mineral selenium, and therefore, it has intrinsic antioxidant properties. These antioxidant properties are increased in aged garlic extracts. These antioxidant properties have a role in garlic's heart protective effects, because it is the oxidized form of LDL cholesterol that forms arterial plaques, and narrows the interior of the arteries, the known pathology of atherosclerosis.

• In addition, garlic helps to prevent heart disease, both by reducing arterial plaque formation, as mentioned just above, and by lowering serum homocysteine levels (a metabolic compound that initiates arterial damage and plaque formation). One study of 152 subjects, in the Journal of Atherosclerosis, showed that the growth of arterial plaques slowed by 5-18% and in some individuals, the plaques became smaller.

• Garlic also decreases the output of inflammatory cytokines (chemicals that promote inflammation) and C-reactive protein (CRP, a nonspecific blood marker of inflammation), so it has natural anti-inflammatory effects which play a protective, preventive role in heart disease, since it is acute inflammation and subsequent white clot formation in a previously narrowed, atherosclerotic coronary artery that precipitates a heart attack (myocardial infarction).

• Garlic can also help to chelate (chemically bind and remove) toxic heavy metals and protect cells against DNA damage.

More controversial are claims that garlic can help lower elevated blood pressure and some evidence (though NOT PROOF) of a beneficial effect and reduced risk of some cancers, especially of the gastrointestinal tract.

Its small, but statistically significant cholesterol lowering effects are real, but short term (at one month), and are apparently not maintained at six months, for unknown reasons. BUT...

When garlic is taken together with pharmaceutical grade fish oil, like my ULTIMATE OMEGA-3, it blocks the tendency of fish oil to raise the bad (LDL) cholesterol, in addition to the good (HDL) cholesterol, even as it lowers the total cholesterol levels. This means that...

Garlic makes fish oil a net cholesterol-lowering agent!

That is why I strongly recommend the use of garlic extract with every dose of fish oil.

Some other substances have similar beneficial effects on fish oil, like certain forms of fiber. But garlic is the most appropriate choice, because it's easily available, relatively inexpensive, is a common food additive and spice, has heart healthy, antioxidant, detoxifying and immune-boosting properties of its own, as noted above, and it has the desired effect on fish oil. And, when used in cooking and in the preparation of many dishes, it tastes great, besides!

True, you can get garlic from your diet, especially if you love Italian, French, or Greek dishes (and many Chinese meals, as well). But the amount and strength of the active ingredient, allicin, in the garlic varies widely, depending on the source, the amount, the concentration, even the age of the garlic. And as noted above, the heat of cooking greatly reduces the available amount of allicin you can consume in food. That makes food sources of garlic unreliable and unpredictable.

To address this problem and provide a preparation that is standardized and highly concentrated in allicin, in a top quality, reliable, nutritional supplement form, I've made a special, pharmaceutical grade garlic extract, to complement my premium ULTIMATE OMEGA-3 pharmaceutical grade fish oil, and make it a net cholesterol lowering agent, as explained above.

Introducing Dr. Bill's Clinic...

Maximum Allicin Garlic Extract

This is a highly concentrated, naturally deodorized, pharmaceutical grade, aged garlic extract preparation, containing a staggering 6500mcg of allicin per capsule!

This pharmaceutical grade garlic extract is convenient, easy to take, of known quantity and strength, and of certified quality, potency and purity--which you cannot say about an ingredient of highly variable concentration and potency in any food. And it provides a more densely concentrated amount of allicin in one single capsule than is possible to obtain by eating any meal.

Choose the option that works best for you:

And, as discussed above, because it's difficult to absorb the active ingredient, allicin, the more garlic extract you consume, the better.

I personally take one capsule with my morning fish oil and one in the evening also, with my PM dose of fish oil. That way, I know I'm getting all the garlic I need, and more, to prevent that undesirable 5-10% elevation of LDL (bad) cholesterol that the omega-3 fatty acids might otherwise produce.

Garlic makes fish oil a net cholesterol-lowering agent, in addition to all its other heart health benefits. That is the main reason that I recommend the use of garlic extract whenever fish oil is consumed.

And with this concentrated garlic extract, I don't need to worry about whether or not I am eating a sufficient amount of garlic in my food to make a difference.

Its naturally deodorized, aged garlic avoids inflicting "garlic breath" on others in your vicinity (a major plus for your family and friends).

In addition, garlic has its own anticoagulant effect, to avoid abnormal clotting and minimize the risk of arterial thrombosis, which complements that of fish oil and some other supplements and vitamins that are part of my daily regimen.

Its antioxidant benefits alone, that protect your cells and DNA from free radical damage, are worth the trouble and minimal expense of adding garlic extract to your daily regimen. But it boosts your immune system, too, helping to make you more resistant to infections, viral and bacterial.

The truth is, if you use fish oil, you should take garlic extract along with it, so you optimize the effectiveness of the fish oil and enjoy all these additional health benefits, as well.

A one month's supply of Dr. Bill's MAXIMUM ALLICIN GARLIC EXTRACT will provide you with a potent 6500mcg of the active compound, allicin, per capsule, and your investment is only $49.95, plus S&H.

P.S. Fish oil is great for lowering elevated triglycerides and raising good (HDL) cholesterol, but when used with garlic extract, the potential 5-10% bad (LDL) cholesterol raising effect of fish oil is BLOCKED, so it becomes a net cholesterol lowering agent, as well. If you take fish oil, you should also be taking garlic.
